Hedge Calculator considers a small number of guest articles that help readers understand the math and rules behind hedging. Please read this page before you pitch.

Topics we consider

  • Hedging and stake-sizing math, with worked examples readers can check.
  • Odds formats, implied probability and the bookmaker margin.
  • Settlement rules such as pushes, voids, dead heats and overtime, and how they change a hedge.
  • Betting exchange mechanics: lay stakes, liability and commission.
  • How promotion terms such as bonus bets and profit boosts change the math, explained rather than promoted.
  • Practical bankroll limits and responsible gambling.

Topics we do not accept

  • Picks, predictions or tipster services.
  • Sportsbook or casino reviews, rankings, bonus codes or sign-up offers.
  • Casino, crypto-gambling or sweepstakes promotion.
  • Anything aimed at minors or at operators that are not licensed where they take bets.

Quality and originality standards

  • Original: written for this site, not published anywhere else, and not rewritten or spun from existing articles.
  • Accurate: every figure and worked example must be correct. We recalculate them all.
  • Sourced: claims about rules, laws or statistics need a reliable, preferably primary, source.
  • Clear: plain English, terms defined when first used, dollar amounts, and American odds alongside decimal.
  • Honest: no “guaranteed profit”, “risk-free” or similar claims. Hedging can lock in a loss, and articles must say so where relevant.
  • Your own work: tell us if you used AI tools. You remain responsible for every fact in the article.

Editorial review

A submission must have its figures and claims checked before publication and may need revisions for accuracy, clarity and style. Scope, edits, credit and permission to publish must be agreed before an article appears. No named editor or review timetable is promised here.

Publication is not guaranteed. We may decline any pitch or draft, at any stage, without detailed feedback, and we may update or remove a published article if it becomes inaccurate.

Links and commercial submissions

  • We do not sell links, and we do not accept payment to publish or edit an article.
  • Links are added only where they help readers. The editor decides every link and how it is marked, and no link is promised to be included or kept.
  • Affiliate links, tracking links and links to gambling operators are not accepted.
  • If you work for, are paid by or have a commercial relationship with any company, product or service you mention, say so in your pitch. If we accept the article, that relationship is disclosed to readers at the top of the article.
  • Undisclosed commercial relationships lead to rejection, or removal if discovered after publication.

What gets a pitch rejected

Spam, mass or templated pitches, copied or plagiarized content, misleading claims and link-placement requests are rejected without a reply, and repeat senders may be blocked.

How to submit

Pitch first; please do not send a finished draft or attachments. Email the address below with the subject line “Guest article pitch” and include:

  • your proposed title and a summary of three to five sentences;
  • a short outline and the worked example you plan to use;
  • links to two pieces of your published writing;
  • a short bio, and any commercial relationship described above.
