Hedge Calculator does arithmetic. It cannot see your bet slip, your sportsbook’s rules or the future, so read every result with the limits below in mind.
Information only, not advice
The calculators and explanations are general information. They are not betting, financial, tax or legal advice, and nothing on the site is a recommendation to place, hedge or cash out any bet.
Results are estimates
A result is only as good as the values entered and the model behind it. Unless a calculator says otherwise, the models leave out:
- commissions and fees (the back-to-lay calculator includes exchange commission only);
- taxes on winnings;
- voids, pushes, dead heats and differences in settlement rules between operators;
- stake limits, partly matched exchange bets and promotion caps;
- odds that change between calculating and placing a bet.
Stakes are rounded to the cent, so outcomes can differ by a cent from the figure you might expect.
No guaranteed profit
A hedge narrows the gap between outcomes; it does not make betting risk-free. Depending on the prices, it can lock in a loss. An arbitrage margin can disappear before both bets are placed. See how to calculate a hedge bet for what the formulas cover.
Odds and operators
The site has no odds feed and no connection to any sportsbook or exchange. Operator names appear only to describe a use case. Hedge Calculator is not affiliated with, endorsed by or paid by any gambling operator, and it contains no affiliate links.
Legality, age and taxes
Sports betting laws differ between states and countries. The site does not confirm whether betting is legal for you; use only licensed operators where betting is permitted, and only if you are of legal gambling age. Gambling winnings can be taxable, and the calculators do not account for tax.
Gambling involves risk
You can lose money gambling. Never bet more than you can afford to lose, and do not use a hedge to chase losses. Help is listed on the responsible gambling page.
